WHERE YOU CAN SERVE - HURRICANE RELIEF
Hurricane Katrina will be remembered as one of the worst natural disasters in the history of
the United States. She left a path of destruction 200 miles wide that ran deep into the heart of
our nation. Hundreds of lives were lost, millions displaced, and damage ran well into the billions.
Many lost everything.
Forward Edge is playing a vital role in the long-term Gulf Coast recovery effort—and you
can be a part! To date, more than 1,000 FEI volunteers have served in the Gulf Coast—helping the
poor and elderly return to their homes, and repairing damaged church buildings. Several anonymous donors
have supported FEI to pursue this vision by providing a special grant, with 100% of
the funds going to the need.
We still urgently need individuals and groups interested in serving in the Gulf Region. You can serve in New Orleans, LA or Moss Point, MS.
FEI provides experienced on-site facilitators, practical preparatory materials, and on-site logistical
coordination. NOTE: Fees cover room and board, on-site transportation, preparatory materials, cultural information,
on-site coordinators, building supplies, and logistical coordination.
Groups Dates for groups are flexible. Please contact FEI (360-574-3343) to schedule a trip date that best meets the
needs of your group. Most of our Katrina Relief teams run from Saturday through Saturday. Costs for group trips are $495 per person.
