RESTORING SIGHT TO THE BLIND IN OAXACA, MEXICO

A state in southern Mexico, Oaxaca is famous for its natural beauty and large population of indigenous people groups. It is also among the poorest regions in North America.

Forward Edge is partnering with Mexican nationals in Oaxaca who have decades of experience serving among Oaxaca's poor. A 35-acre parcel of land outside Oaxaca City-where a state-of-the-art medical clinic is located-serves as FEI's base of operations.

You can participate with FEI in a wide variety of projects in Oaxaca. Short-term volunteers are needed to:

  • perform cataract removal and cleft palate surgeries
  • implement a community health program in the villages
  • conduct clean water projects in the villages
  • pour concrete floors or pisos in the homes of villagers

If you are a health-care professional-or just someone with a heart to serve-Oaxaca is a place where you can truly make a difference!
