Hundreds call La Chureca, the Managua garbage dump, their home. They live in filth, poverty and hopelessness, being subjected to contaminated air that will significantly shorten their lives. Many young girls are susceptible to sex trading in exchange for first access to new loads of garbage.
With the help of volunteers like you, Forward Edge has built Villa Esperanza, a Village of Hope that provides a home for some of the most vulnerable girls from the dump. At the Villa, these girls receive safety, love, care, education and ultimately, a chance for a better future.
Join a Forward Edge team and you will play with children living in La Chureca and the Villa, repair homes of poverty-stricken families, help with projects at the Villa and La Chureca, encourage the elderly in the dump and serve El Faro, a local church working with the La Chureca community. While in Nicaragua, God will use you to change lives!
