40 years of missions

Since 1983, we’ve provided accelerated discipleship opportunities to short-term missionaries impacting and being impacted by people in 34 different countries. We’ve learned a lot about holistic international development along the way, and we’re inviting you to join us in these God-made and God-sustained global relationships.

locations

Each of our mission trip locations are reflective of long-term partnerships we’ve fostered with local Christian leaders pouring themselves into their own community. Scroll through our locations below and click learn more for the beautiful story behind each of the places we serve.

BALTIMORE

Baltimore suffers from high rates of child poverty and other serious social issues. On a team, you’ll have the chance to reach out to homeless and impoverished children, families, and communities.

GHANA

Northern Ghana is predominantly Muslim and in desperate need of the Gospel. You can help bring hope to children and families.

KENYA

Share the Gospel with vulnerable and orphaned children suffering from severe poverty and malnutrition.

MEXICO

Serve at Trigo y Miel, our holistic, child-focused, community development program and church for the materially poor community of Olimpo in the heart of Oaxaca, Mexico.

UGANDA

Children in the slums of Uganda, many of whom are orphans, are served through our Light a Candle program. Serving on a team will allow you to show Christ's love to the children as they come to the program for nutritious food, fun activities, and the Good News.

PUERTO RICO

Today, years after Hurricane Maria struck the island, families are still displaced or living in damaged homes. Serving on a team to Puerto Rico will give you the opportunity to help families get back into their homes with renewed hope for a better future.

why forward edge?

Every component of our mission trip experience has been purposefully crafted to increase the long-term impact for both the communities served and those who go to serve.

Relationships

We encourage all of our short-term missionaries to embrace the reality that relationships are more important than accomplishments, and people are more important than projects.

Local Leaders

We partner with passionate and dedicated local believers who lead long-term programs and initiatives in their own communities.

Empowerment

Our missionaries are not sent as "heroes" to "save" those living in poverty. Instead, they're servants, always focusing on doing things with people, not just for them.

Discipleship

Team members are encouraged to prayerfully consider how their mission trip relates to the rest of their life and are provided with resources and training to help them integrate what they learned on the mission field into their lives back home.

Mobilizing the Church since 1983

For 40 years, Forward Edge has engaged, organized, and equipped more than 20,000 Christ-followers on nearly 1,600 mission teams to step out in love to many parts of the U.S. and 34 countries. Over this time, we’ve learned how to conduct the best mission tripstrips that truly help and lead to lasting transformation for all involved.
