Our Founder

Forward Edge International was founded by Joseph Anfuso in 1983 through the conviction and inspiration of Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Joseph’s passion was to help each Christ-follower hear and respond to God’s call.  

For 40 years, Joseph helped thousands of Christ-followers discover and pursue God’s purpose for their lives through short-term mission trips and holistic community development. He led mission teams, spearheaded new programs, and developed a highly effective international and headquarters staff.  

Joseph poured his life into partnering with God to set a firm foundation for Forward Edge to grow and thrive into the future. 

He is also the author of several books. Message in a Body is a memoir of Joseph’s early life, travels and adventures, his discovery of the Gospel, and the circumstances that led to the founding of Forward Edge. His book, The Best Story of Your Life, explores the principles that have guided his walk with God, as well as the ministry of Forward Edge, with application for all believers. His e-course, Living on Purpose, is designed to help Christ followers discover and pursue God’s purpose for their lives by understanding their unique life experiences, passions, and spiritual gifts.
