CUBA CHILD SPONSORSHIP

Hola (hello), my name is Naila Maria

  • location

    Cuba

  • 11 yrs. old

    02-21-2015

Entered the program: February 2026

Naila lives with her great-grandfather, two maternal great-aunts, and two cousins in a three-bedroom plastered brick house with an asbestos cement sheet roof and a concrete floor. Naila shares a bed and bedroom with one of her great-aunts and a cousin. The home has electricity and outdoor plumbing only. The kitchen and bathroom are outdoors and the family cooks with wood. Piped water is received from the town aqueduct every two days. There are chicken cages close to the bedroom which cause an odor.

Naila’s mother has had three different partners and has 5 children. She is currently married to a man who is unemployed. Her mother lives in a remote area and has her other four daughters with her. She gave Naila to her aunt to raise when she was 3-years old. Naila’s father does not support her. Naila’s great-grandfather and her great-aunt provide financially for her.

Sponsorship Level What's this?

Two $38 sponsorships are needed to cover the complete holistic care of one child. Cover one or two sponsorships.

Change the World for One

As a child sponsor, you’re providing things like nutritious meals, safe drinking water, education, health care, and spiritual instruction. Beyond meeting their critical needs, you’re building a priceless personal relationship with your child, helping them discover their true worth and God-given potential.

How Sponsorship Works

Choose a boy or girl to sponsor with an ongoing commitment of at least $38 a month.

Write Letters

You can build a relationship with your child by sending photos, emails, letters and cards. You can even visit your child if you go on a short-term mission trip with a group!

What Does My Sponsorship Provide?
