Alma lives with her grandparents, her mother and two brothers. They live in a brick house, which is still under construction. They cook with propane and electricity and have running water every two days from the town water line which they boil to drink. The home has a refrigerator and a TV set.
Alma’s mother works as an accountant and her father raises pigs to sell. The family usually has two meals a day until the 20th of the month when their government-provided rations run out, then they have one and a light snack for dinner if there is enough money.
As a child sponsor, you’re providing things like nutritious meals, safe drinking water, education, health care, and spiritual instruction. Beyond meeting their critical needs, you’re building a priceless personal relationship with your child, helping them discover their true worth and God-given potential.
