Jesus Abraham lives with his parents in a two-bedroom, one-bath apartment. They have electricity and running water which needs to be boiled for drinking. They cook with an electric and gas cooker and have a refrigerator. Outside the apartment complex, there are some areas of stagnant water which draw mosquitoes and there have been dengue infections in the neighborhood. The community has high alcohol and drug use as well as gambling.
Both of Jesus Abraham's parents are employed but the household income is low. The family has two meals a day until near the end of the month when, sometimes, they have only enough for one.
