Liennys lives with her parents and a brother in a two-bedroom wood house with an asbestos-cement sheet roof and dirt floor. Liennys shares a bedroom with her brother. The family uses electricity and propane for cooking and they get water from the town water line every two days which they boil to drink. The lighting in the home is poor and there are no tables to use for studying and homework. Some of their neighbors raise pigs and the smell affects the area where she lives.
Both of Liennys’s parents work and earn a small income. Her father is a craftsman and carves statues of the Virgin Mary to sell. Liennys’s mother works in a school cleaning floors. The family has two meals a day until the 20th of the month, when they have one meal and a snack at dinner time.
As a child sponsor, you’re providing things like nutritious meals, safe drinking water, education, health care, and spiritual instruction.
