Hasifah lives with her aunt and four cousins in a two-bedroom house. Her aunt, Sandra, took Hasifah into her home when she was abandoned by her mother and her father was unable to care for her. Sandra runs a retail shop to make a living. Hasifah is currently in boarding school but helps with general cleaning chores and fetches water when she's home.
