Diego lives with his grandmother, brother, and young uncle in a 2-bedroom house constructed of concrete. Diego’s mother is working and living in another town with her boyfriend; she sends money home for support.
Diego’s mother’s life was very difficult. She became pregnant at a very young age, and then had a second child by another man. Diego’s grandmother has always been the primary caretaker of him and his brother.
Diego’s brother, Kevin, and uncle, Angel, are also in the Trigo y Miel program.
