Kibibi, Uganda, faces deep challenges: poverty, limited education, and few opportunities for youth. Many young people leave their families in search of work, risking their connections to home and community.
But Forward Edge’s Light A Candle Uganda program is already making a difference. Efforts like our school feeding initiative, a new kitchen, and our women’s craft and savings club are building a foundation of hope and opportunity. Now, we have the chance to do even more.
The new Community Center will be a vital hub, creating opportunities for youth and families to thrive in Kibibi. Here’s what it will offer:
In the future, bedrooms and bathrooms will be added to accommodate Mission Teams and visitors, enhancing the center’s capacity to serve the community.
Kibibi is home to 800 people, with 60% living in poverty. Families rely on subsistence farming, and many youth leave in search of opportunities elsewhere, leaving their families and land behind.
With the Uganda Community Center, we can change this story. This project will empower youth to stay in Kibibi, take over family land, and contribute to the community’s growth. By investing in education, training, and spiritual growth, we can build a stronger future for everyone in Kibibi.
